How is my international Relocation Cost Calculated?
The total cost for shipping your household goods is divided into three main categories:
- Export Services: This includes wrapping, collection, loading the container at your residence, handling into storage, crating, customs clearance in South Africa, and, if necessary, container storage.
- Ocean Freight: Charged in US Dollars, this cost is converted to South African Rands based on the current exchange rate. It also covers container cartage.
- Destination Services: This covers customs clearance of your shipment and delivery to your new home. The cost is calculated in the currency of your destination and converted to South African Rands at the prevailing exchange rates.
What type of international relocation services do you offer?
We provide a range of services to meet your shipping needs:
- Groupage Services
- Full Container Loads (FCL)
- Less than Container Loads (LCL)
- Air Freight

Do you offer a door-to-door service?
Yes, we do offer a door-to-door service! When you receive a door-to-door quote from us, it will encompass customs clearance and delivery to your new home abroad, unless you request otherwise. Be aware that customs in your destination country may need to inspect your items or place them in quarantine, which could lead to extra charges. Additionally, many countries impose duties and taxes on items like alcohol, tobacco, and new products. For detailed information relevant to your destination, your dedicated relocation specialist will be available to assist you.
Can I move my vehicle overseas?
To export a motor vehicle, you must first secure authorization from the Reserve Bank. It’s essential to discuss the details of vehicle importation with your relocation specialist to ensure all requirements for your destination country are met. While additional documents will be necessary, these are readily available.
The shipping process itself is straightforward: your vehicle will be carefully loaded into a custom-built, highly durable crate for maximum protection during transport. Your household items will then be packed into the same container.
Can you provide storage solutions for my belongings, either locally or internationally?
Yes, indeed. We provide secure storage at both our local storage facilities and through our agents at your destination.
Does the service include packing, and what is the process?
Yes, professional packing is included in the price. We carefully wrap your small, delicate items in clean white paper and cushion them before placing them in custom shipping cartons. Larger items are protected with wrapping, and valuable or fragile pieces, like antiques or artwork, are crated. Every package is meticulously labelled, and a detailed inventory is created before your belongings are shipped from your home.
